Port Dover, ON – On Thursday, local MPP Bobbi Ann Brady met with the Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice team to celebrate a $125,700 Resilient Communities Fund grant they received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). This funding will ensure the continuation of critical Grief and Bereavement Programming throughout 2025 for residents of Norfolk and Haldimand Counties. The announcement highlights the Hospice’s commitment to supporting individuals and families navigating grief in these communities.
“As much as we don’t like to think about it, grief and bereavement are part of all our lives,” said Bobbi Ann Brady, MPP for Haldimand-Norfolk. “When the time comes for grief, especially due to the loss of a loved one, it’s comforting to know that this OTF grant will provide support and compassion for folks in their time of need.”
This grant will allow the Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice to expand its comprehensive Grief and Bereavement Programming, which includes one-on-one counseling, peer support groups, and educational workshops. These services are designed to help residents cope with the loss of loved ones in a supportive and compassionate environment, ensuring no one faces grief alone.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their generous support,” said Andrea Binkle, Executive Director of the Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice. “This funding will enable us to continue providing essential grief support services that bring comfort and healing to individuals and families in our community during some of their most challenging times.”
