The Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice is thrilled to announce a generous donation of $15,639 from the Jarvis Community Church. The funds were raised during their highly successful “Harmony for Hospice” event, held on October 27, 2024. This incredible act of community spirit will help advance the hospice’s mission of providing compassionate care and support for individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
“The Harmony for Hospice event was a testament to the power of community coming together through music and generosity,” said Andrea Binkle, Executive Director of Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice. “We are deeply grateful to the Jarvis Community Church and everyone who contributed to this meaningful cause. Their support makes a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.”
The “Harmony for Hospice” event featured an evening of uplifting musical performances by local artists, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among attendees. The performers at the event were: Wayne Smith, Leah Scriven, Halle Reeder, Sing-Capella Quartet, Maria Polillo & Dan Roswell (One Chance Connection), Wendy & Steve Lowden, Carillon Belles, James Slote, Jeremy and Josie Snowden, Nolan Gibson & Shari Streutker with accompanists Bruce Vandermolen and Lorne Evans.
The $15,639 raised will go directly toward enhancing hospice services, including grief support programs, in-home palliative care, and education initiatives. The Hospice would like to thank the Jarvis Community Church for organizing and promoting the event that brought the community together to raise money for the Hospice, our programs and services for the people of Norfolk and Haldimand Counties. The community coming together to support the event and the Hospice in such a generous manner is an incredible sight.
The Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice is dedicated to offering compassionate care and dignity for individuals during life’s final journey. Donations like this are vital to sustaining the quality and accessibility of these services.
“It’s inspiring to see the Jarvis Community Church lead by example,” said Andrea Binkle “Their efforts remind us all of the profound impact that can be achieved when a community unites around a common goal.”
