The Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice is excited to share the success of the recent “Harmony for Hospice” event held at Faith Centennial United Church in Selkirk, which raised an impressive $4,795 in support of hospice services. The event featured performances from talented local artists and was attended by members of the Selkirk community.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity and community spirit demonstrated during the Harmony for Hospice event in Selkirk,” said Andrea Binkle, Executive Director of Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice. “These funds will directly support our mission to provide compassionate care and essential services to individuals and families during their most challenging times.”
The Christmas Concert themed event nearly filled the church to capacity with those from the Selkirk and the surrounding area, all united to support the Hospice. Faith Centennial’s United Church Women’s group prepared an abundance of refreshments following the event. The $4,795 raised will contribute to vital programs, including palliative care, grief support, and community education.
Event Organizer Darryl Mitchell says “The hospice idea was in the mindful thoughts of Drew Williamson years ago who now has his dream posthumously attained.”
The Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice relies on community support to sustain and grow its services. Events like Harmony for Hospice are crucial in ensuring the hospice continues to offer dignity, comfort, and connection to those facing life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered,” said Andrea Binkle. “Your support is a beacon of hope for the individuals and families we serve.”
